Sorry I haven’t been around much lately.
I’ve been busy with my new job. I’m now working as a copywriter for a mortgage company in Westminster, which means my commute went from an hour to six minutes (eight, if I hit a lot of lights or traffic).
Yeah, it’s great.
I’m loving the job. I like the work (mostly writing short, ad-like copy) and I love the team I’m working with.
But it means I’ve been busy learning the ropes of a new place and haven’t had time for this blog lately.
I’ve been running a lot lately too.
Usually, the only reason I run is if someone is chasing me.
But I got an app about a month ago that helps build up my running endurance, and it’s been working really well for me. All I have to do is put in my headphones, and listen to the running app’s instructions.
It’s my very own running conscience. For some reason, I work really well with instructions. I also like to see that nice green check mark after every run. I’m working up, but this month I’ve already run 27.1 miles, which is a lot for me. It really helps me feel accomplished.
I’ve also been working on different writing things: first, revising Adelaide. I was getting a lot of solid feedback over the past months about what was and wasn’t working, and so I changed up the structure to reflect that. I think this revision is really strong, and the pace is moving forward a lot faster, so I’m gonna start querying that revision soon too.
I’m still writing Flame of Burnt Brandy. I have no idea where it’s going… but I really like these characters. And I want to stick with them. I assume they’ll reveal their secrets to me eventually.
Keep writing, friends.
